Building stores since Magento 1
Big Cart
Energy. The full-service ecommerce agency.
Magento is home. We're fluent everywhere else.
Big Cart Energy is a full-service ecommerce agency: we build and migrate stores on Magento, Shopify, BigCommerce, WooCommerce and headless Next.js, wire them to ERPs like NetSuite, grow them with technical SEO and AI search, keep them fast and patched, and put AI to work in the catalog and admin. One senior team, every layer.
Agency output. Boutique team.

What full service covers here
A whole ecommerce department in one firm: platform, ERP, marketplaces, growth, security and AI. Most agencies cover two or three of those.

Who we help
B2B and industrial distributors
Big technical catalogs, an ERP in the middle, buyers who order by SKU at contract prices. We speak that language.
Stores on older Magento
On 2.3 or early 2.4, with no budget for an upgrade yet. We patch you now and upgrade you when you're ready.
Companies outgrowing their agency
Tickets stall, nobody has read the core, the roadmap is a backlog. Replacing an agency or an offshore team? You want a department, not a vendor.
Free Magento security patches
Nothing in this aisle yet. Adobe's lifecycle policy says remaining on an unsupported version “puts your store at risk of security vulnerabilities.” We'll publish free backports for those versions: each will take a fix from an Adobe security bulletin, ship as a public repo and Composer package, and list only the versions we've tested it on. That's how you'll check our work before you hire us.
Running something we haven't covered?
Send the version and the CVE. If we can backport the fix, we'll publish it here. If we can't, we'll say so.
Who does the work
A boutique team of senior engineers, running an AI-augmented process: agents write fast, people decide. The engineers who scope your project build it, review it and answer for the release. Nobody hands you to a junior team after the sale.
Agents draft
Specialist AI agents draft code, tests, migrations and documentation from a written brief.
Engineers decide
Engineers set the architecture, steer the agents and read every diff before it merges. Agent output is never merged unreviewed.
Two blocking gates
Code review, then security: static analysis, a dependency audit, and secrets, PII and payment paths reviewed by hand. Each gate blocks the release until an engineer signs off.
Agents never get write access to your store, payments or customer data.

Questions buyers ask us
Does an all-in-one ecommerce agency actually exist?
Yes. A full-service ecommerce agency covers every layer of the store: the platform, ERP and marketplace integrations, search and AI visibility, speed and security, and AI in the catalog and admin. We run all five with one senior team. To test any agency's claim, ask it to name the systems behind each layer.
Full-service agency, specialists or an in-house team: which fits us?
Hire a specialist when one problem is the whole job, like a single integration or an SEO audit. Build in-house when ecommerce is your core business and the work never stops. A full-service agency fits when the platform, ERP, search and security all need work and nobody owns how they fit together. Or combine them: a fractional head of ecommerce from our team works alongside yours.
Do you work on retainer or by project?
Both. A project covers a build, replatform, integration or audit, scoped up front. A retainer covers ongoing development, SEO and content, and platform care. We also offer a fractional head of ecommerce (roadmap, vendors, a P&L lens) and emergency help, triage first. We don't publish prices: they depend on catalog size, integrations, customizations and data quality.
Who actually does the work, and does the senior team stay on?
Senior engineers with specialist AI agents, and the same engineers stay on. Agents draft code, tests and migrations from a written brief; an engineer reads every diff before it merges, and two blocking gates, code review and security, sit between any change and your store. The engineers who scope your project build it and answer for the release.
Do you take build work from other agencies under their name?
Yes. We build under your agency's name, invisible to your client. You keep the client relationship and the credit; we do the engineering behind it, through the same review and security gates as our own work. Tell us the platform and scope, and we'll say plainly whether it fits.
Do you only work on Magento?
No. Magento is home: we've worked on it since Magento 1, and Magento Open Source and Adobe Commerce are where our expertise runs deepest. We also build, migrate, integrate and grow stores on Shopify and Shopify Plus, BigCommerce, WooCommerce, headless Next.js and custom stacks. Good work on any stack is welcome.
